The Panama Canal (25 minutes away)
The Panama Canal is approximately 80 kilometers long and connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. This waterway was cut through one of narrowest saddles of the isthmus that joins North and South America. The Panama Canal will amaze you with its engineering and its relevance in the global economy.
Gamboa Rainforest Reserve (35 minutes away)
It is most interesting that a metropolitan city like Panama City has access to this exceptional nature reserve. Gamboa is home to caimans, crocodiles, iguanas and several hundred bird species. Given its location at the “end of the road,” and the single road connecting it to the rest of the Canal Zone, Gamboa is adjacent to significant tracts of relatively undisturbed rainforest. A trail that follows an old pipeline (“Pipeline Road”) is considered one of the best birding hikes in Panama and one of the premier bird-watching sites in all of Central America.
Panama City (20 minutes away)
Panama City is a cosmopolitan, dynamic city, where the modern and the traditional come together to create a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere.
You can walk on the Cinta Costera and contemplate the beauty of the modern city, and you can discover the past and have fun at the Old Town of the capital city.
If you are looking to make purchases, Panama offers a wide range of shopping centers with excellent offers on merchandise.
